6/21 Fathers day FT shoot aka the Rivalry Match

Fathers Day turned out just about perfect for shooting FT the temperature was about 80, the wind was present but never overwhelming and more importantly the company was good. We had 15-16 shooters 3 Jrs and most everyone in Springer Class. A number of the usual suspects didn't make it out Tony, Ron E, Greg, Riz... So it was a bit lonely in PCP with Jon and I holding down the AA class.

The match should be nicknamed the "Rivalry Match", i think Doug B the Match facilitator sharpened his pitchfork for the day.  To started out Maneeva and her dad Mike were paired up, but dad didn't provide much competition so Maneeva moved on to take on Irene, her 3P coach. Maneeva is our local 3P ringer; she shows up to her first 10meter match and whips all but 1 one of the guys. OUCH.  Helder and his teenage daughter Bianca were paired up; do teenagers ever listen to their parents? Imagine the tension. Wild Bill and I were teamed up, Bill preceded to berate me most of the match, funny how he only hurled insults when i was shooting.

 Juniors Maneeva and Bianca

Bianca shooting a S200.

Over in Springer land the undercurrents of rivalry were strong with Lonnie, Pat, Doug, Eric, Paul B, Jonathon (Rookie) and first time shooter Tim B all shooting piston/hunter class. All of these guys had something to prove - Doug and Paul have been battling it out for supremacy in Springer the last few matches. Lonnie, Pat, Eric, and Jon were shooting new rigs and eager to show their manliness with guns that recoil.

Paul B with his newly fixed 97. Paul's been steadly improving and ready to take on Doug for the title Springer King.

Doug B gettting warmed up. Doug has every Rolling Stones T-shirt ever made or so it would appear.

Jonathon and his new Tx200

Eric K awaiting his turn

Lonnie and his custom R9. Lonnie basically kicked my butt all down the back aisle till he ran into "super squirrel". Super Squirrel is Lonnie's kryptonite, a nasty 50T target thats off angle and elevated to boot. With Lonnie being un-nerved by SS the door to overtake him was open.

Meanwhile Virgins Tim & Jun where just trying to find a position in which to shoot comfortably.

Jun working on that position.

Airgun Hunter Tim B taking on a target. My elbows hurt just looking at the picture.

In Open PCP Class - The AA targets were laid out, a little more sadistically than usual. I think 1 was hit all day combined, Needless to say next month we'll be dropping it back down just a little.

Helder with his cop glasses showing off Wall-E.

My buddy, Hooligan Bill.  For some strange reason Bill shot the best he's done in years.

John taking on the AA targets with a smile on his face.

Me thinking %^%&#! thats a might small AA KZ, who set that up?

When it was all over Helder's daughter Bianca edged Maneeva and Maneeva beat her coach.  Pat takes hunter class shooting a GAMO and a x12power scope with a 33. I think we'll give Pat a slingshot next month. Lonnie comes out of no where to upset Doug and Paul to take Piston. I narrowly squeak by to take PCP.
