The Fun Shoot was designed to bring new and current airgun shooters together to have safe and fun shooting for all. It lived up to its mission and then some!
When I arrived, the firing line was filled with lots of familiar as well as new and young faces, clear skies with air warming up…it was gonna be a good day!
The Multi Purpose Range(MPR) was filled with a ton of targets ranging from paper to various swingers, bell ringers, shaving cans, paintballs, Quigley Buckets and the Caldwell Shooting Gallery that I just received from Precision Airguns and Supplies in Michigan.

The wind was blowing pretty good, making a lot of the farther shots a real challenge with the windflags/surveyors tape typically flying horizontally in the wind! But the wind didn’t put any damper on the fun, the Guys and Gals were there to SHOOT!
Here’s some pics of the new junior shooters, there was a bunch of others but I didn’t get pics…:
Jarret J. pounding targets with a Condor(.25):

Here’s some pics of the usual suspects at our events:

Greg Tobler decided to throw in some good ole fun shooting with a competitive edge to it, the Quigley Bucket Shoot with 4 shots at 50 yards and a Sniper Challenge consisting of 10 shots(Unsupported with No Straps) at 60 yards or so on a paper bullseye.
The wind made for quite the challenge for all that competed. Most of us are most comfortable/familiar with benched or FT shooting so these off handers and unsupported shots at range was gonna be interesting, lol…
Taking 1st place in the Quigley Challenge was Lonnie S.:

Taking first in the Sniper Challenge was yours truly:

I gotta tell ya, shooting that paper target unsupported was a heck of a learning experience, lol, truly felt naked with out my harness, bum bag and shooting pants. My first go at it left zero shots in the black, and holes peppered all around the bullseye. I decided to go at it again, grabbing a rifle that I have lots of trigger time with that also had twice the magnification, my BSA Hornet Multishot(.22) with an Elite 3200 7 – 21 x 40AO Mildot…holding off 2 mildots left of the target for the wind and 2 mildots up for the drop, kept all but 2 shots in the black!
After the competitive shoots, pulled out the new bbq grill to make some hot dogs and sausages as everyone was hungry!
It was a great day and a pleasure to see a bunch of new shooters that are now interested in learning and shooting more, be it FT or airguns in general.
Regards,
Tony
